Last Meal Before Debarking

Avera, Anderson and Ballentine

Children of British War Brides have their last meal before debarking from the army transport Zebulon B. Vance on its arrival in New York City, Febraury 22 and starting on the last leg of the trip to their new homes in the U.S.

left to right: Mrs. Vera Avera of Cambridge and her 14 months old son, John, enroute to Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. Jean Anderson of London and her 18 months old son, Philip, on their way to Detroit, MI; and Mrs. (Annette) Joyce Ballentine and her 11 month old son, Patrick, who are heading for Kalamazoo, MI.; Mrs. Ballentine is from Plymouth.
