The American War Bride Experience

GI Brides of World War II

Tidworth Army Base in Hampshire, England

Tidworth is where many War Brides received physicals, lectures on life in the U.S. and travel instructions. They were allowed 200 pounds of luggage. Afterward the brides left for Southampton to board ships going to their new homelands.
