Waiting for GI Husbands

Only two British brides and two children were left at Red Cross Headquarter, New York Tuesday from among the 2, 334 war brides and babies who debarked from the Queen Mary, Sunday and Monday. At left is Mrs. Doreen Smith, wife of Sgt. Ralph Smith of Escondido, Cal., who missed her train. At the right is Mrs. Mary L. Sons, of Cowan, Tenn. With her two children, Roy (standing) and Marie, Private Sons have been to New York to meet the Argentina, another war brides ship and not finding his family he returned home AP Wirephoto.
