GI Brides En Route to U.S. Planning Show, Less Hardy Sisters Sea Sick

Aboard the SS Argentine (NANA) – Despite heavy seas many GI brides still are on their feet.

They are staggering around green-faced with rosy-cheeked babies under their arms.

The less affected brides are preparing a show for the benefit of their colleagues. They cab be seen practicing acrobatics, hul hula dances and song numbers.

The pitching and tossing of the ship only adds to their fun. A wiggle number, invariably ends up in a dull thud as a bride loses her balance and hits the deck.

The Argentina is running later and all the brides are worried lest their husbands and their new familie will not be apprised of the ships delayed are rival.

Wednesday’s storm the worst so far encountered brought with it a 60 mile gale.

One girl remarked nervously: “I haven’t seen a rat on this ship. It worries me. Rats always desert a sinking ship.”
