GI Dead but Wife En Route to U.S.

Chicago, Ill. (INS) – A 20-year-old English woman and her two children were on the giant steamer Queen Mary Friday bound for American.

The family of Corp. John C. Ramsey waited here to welcome her.

Corporal Ramsey, however died 10 days ago of a cerebral hemorrhage just before the girl he married in England, Kathleen Heuston Ramsey, 3 year-old Janette and a 1-year-old son, John, Jr. started for the United States.

Mrs. Ramsey at first was undecided about continuing her trip, but a trans-Atlantic telephone call from her husband’s father Charles N. Ramsey convinced her. He told her he wanted to meet his two grandchildren.
